Stabbing Westward was an American industrial rock band formed in
1989 by Christopher Hall (lead singer) and Walter Flakus
(keyboards, programming). The band went through several different
lineups during their 13-year career; Christopher and Walter are
the only original members. The pair was renowned as the
songwriting team behind most of Stabbing Westward s radio hits
including Save Yourself,
Shame, So Far Away Nothing, Lies, and Violent Mood Swings. After
four albums, which included two Gold records and eight years of
touring with such music greats as Depeche Mode, Sex Pistols,
KISS, Killing Joke, Front 242, Placebo and The Cult, Stabbing
Westward formally broke up
on February 9, 2002.

Now, the songwriting team is back, along with onetime Stabbing
Westward drummer Johnny Haro. The band is rounded out with
Deadsy/Orgy guitarist Carlton Bost and bassist Brent Ashley from
Static X.
The Dreaming s previous releases include the single Every Trace,
from their second record PUPPET, which climbed the U.S. rock
charts in 2012. Ugly was released in 2007 and Etched in Blood was
featured on the Electra soundtrack.
The band toured with acts such as Trust Company, Flaw, and Trapt.
The new album, titled Rise Again, was Chris Hall s choice: he
wanted to deliver an album that brought back the early Stabbing
Westward sound that fans have been asking for.
Although the name Stabbing Westward is now dead and buried, the
founders of the band are pleased to rise again as The Dreaming,
along with the intense and haunting music that made them a
multi-platinum band.

Rock from Canada is waiting in the starting block.
Danko Jones, man of many talents, is coming back with a
brand new album called “Fire music”. And the album
represents what the title promises. It’s a reall hot
rock & metal fireworks that is burned down by the
Toronto-based guitarist.

“Fire music” is the twelves record of the axeman/singer
and one of the most aggressive ones. It looks like
Danko uses the eleven numbers on the longplayer as an
outlet for a lot of cumulated anger and frustration.
It’s exactly those emotions which gives the album the
raw power and explosive vibe that makes it special and
authentic.

The beginning of “Fire music” couldn’t be better. “Wild
woman” is an excellent hybrid that combines the strong
parts from Kyuss with the hardrock from The Cult. Hot
stuff. With “The twisting knife” the pace increases.
The tune is a raging one with a dense sound. The
Maiden-like “Ohohoh” part fits perfectly into the
context as well as the roaring guitars.

Another songs, another facette of Danko Jones. “Gonna
be a fight tonight” is an angry punk-based track that
kicks ass. It can develop to a live anthem for each
Danko Jones live show. A raw diamond.

You have a need to breath deeply after those tracks. No
way. “Body bags” is even faster, more aggressive and
more uncompromissing than the before heard highlights.
Again it’s a lot of punk that is the foundation for the
track that is an ultimate enrgizer.

Compared to these songs “Life forever” comes with a
more moderate pace. It’s similar to the opener and puts
the groove into focus. A cool number and a typical live
‘whoohoo’ one too. Dirty rock’n’roll that makes a lot
of fun. “Do you wanna rock” comes with a 70’s vibe that
reminded me to Kiss while “Getting into drugs” is a
smasher with a great riff. Vocals are a bit weird which
fits to the title of the track.

After those groovers it’s time to speed up again.
“Watch you slide” lives up to this expectation. The
song is like a running steam train that can’t be
stopped. It’s rather simple but highly efficient.
“Piranha” is slightly similar, while “I will break your
heart” reflects the bluesy side of Danko Jones.

The bouncer is the mean rocker “She ain’t coming home”
– a song with a Social Distortion vibe that finish a
brilliant hardrock album.

“Fire music” is a rock fireworks that you should not
miss. Eleven songs will make your day. An album that is
one of the first highlights in 2015.

Known as one of the hardest working bands out there, Like A Storm
fought hard to be heard. The New Zealand brothers came to the
United States knowing no one, and built a diehard and devoted
fan-base by tirelessly touring to promote their debut album, The
End of The Beginning with top acts such as Alter Bridge,
Shinedown & Creed. In the midst of that whirlwind, the road
served as the foundation for their forthcoming sophomore set, and
first album for Another Century Records, Awaken The Fire.

While supporting Creed on a summer 2012 run, the band— Chris
Brooks [lead vocals, guitar, didgeridoo, keys/programming], Matt
Brooks [vocals, lead guitar, keys/programming], and Kent Brooks
[bass, vocals, keys/programming]—would immediately retreat to
either their dressing room or hotel after each show and begin
recording new music until daybreak. This intense work ethic
fostered a fertile creative spell for the boys.

“We were growing as a band and getting inspired by life on the
road,” Chris explains. “We never stopped writing as we were
touring. Our fans were hungry for new music, and we were hungry
to put something out. We didn’t want to sit around and wait to
see which label came knocking at our door. So, we decided to make
the album ourselves, produce it, tour it, and preserve this
awesome connection we’re lucky to have with our fans. We made a
mobile studio rig and brought it everywhere.”

Cut on the road, their new hit single “Love The Way You Hate Me”
began to make waves on its own. Midwest radio station “The
Banana” in Flint, MI started spinning it, and it eventually spent
four consecutive weeks at #1, owning the station’s “cage match”.
Organically, other stations picked up the track, such as KIBZ in
Lincoln, adding it to regular rotation. Soon, Sirius XM’s rock
station, Octane caught wind of it as well, and it seized #1 on
their nationwide Big ‘Uns countdown for five weeks. The single
eventually went Top 30 on the US active rock charts, a major
achievement for a completely independent band, and making them
the first New Zealand group to ever do so.

Sons of Texas was spawned in McAllen Texas, a valley town without
the music legacy of Austin o Arlington. The scene vibes music for
music s sake with metalcore bands, blues-rock bands, and straight
up rock n roll bands swapping members and sharing bills. Sons of
Texas formed in 2013 around a lineup of local all-stars. The
group is Mark Morales, vocals, Mike Villarreal, drums, Nick
Villarreal, bass, Jon Olivarez, rhythm guitar and Jes De Hoyos,
lead guitar.

Baptized in the Rio Grande is an album for raising hell and
enduring hard times. The record spans good old bad boy anthems
like Texas Trim and Baptized in the Rio Grande, the stately
ballad territory of the haunting September, and the dead-end job
frustration of Pull it and Fire. The standout track, Blameshift,
showcases the band s modern rock radio potential without
sacrificing heft for hooks.
